Recipe: Traditional Indian Mutton Curry with Spices n’ More Mutton Masala

Ingredients:

  • 500g mutton pieces
  • 2 tablespoons Spices n’ More Mutton Masala
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 cup water (or as needed)
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Mutton:
    • In a bowl, combine the mutton pieces with 1 tablespoon of Spices n’ More Mutton Masala and yogurt. Mix well and marinate for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate for up to 2 hours for better flavor.
  2. Prepare the Curry Base:
    • Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until golden brown, then add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add Tomatoes and Mutton Masala:
    • Add the chopped tomatoes and  1 tablespoon Mutton Masala. Cook until the tomatoes are soft, and the oil begins to separate from the mixture.
  4. Cook the Mutton:
    • Add the marinated mutton pieces and salt. Sauté until the mutton is seared and coated with the spices. Pour in water, cover, and simmer for 20 -30minutes, or until the mutton is tender.
  5. Serve:
    • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with naan, rice, or roti.

Cooking Tip

For an even richer flavor, cook the mutton on low heat for an extended period (slow-cooking) to allow the masala to infuse deeply. You may also add a teaspoon of ghee for a luxurious finish.
