Recipe: Coastal Fish Curry with Spices n’ More Fish Masala

  • 2 medium tomatoes, roughly chopped
  • 5-6 garlic cloves
  • 1-inch piece of ginger
  • 1 green chili
  • Handful of fresh coriander leaves
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 10-12 fresh curry leaves
  • 2 teaspoons Spices n’ More Fish Masala
  • 300 grams fresh fish fillets
  • Kokum or tamarind water, to adjust sourness

Instructions:

Prepare the Paste:  In a blender, combine tomatoes, garlic, ginger, green chili, coriander leaves, and salt. Blend into a smooth paste.

Sauté the Masala: Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the curry leaves and let them sizzle for a few seconds. Add the tomato-garlic paste along with 2 teaspoons Spices n’ More Fish Masala. Sauté for about 3 minutes until the paste thickens and becomes aromatic.

Cook the Fish: Add the fish pieces to the pan and gently stir to coat with the masala. Cook for 3-5 minutes on medium heat.

Adjust the Sourness: Add kokum or tamarind water as per your taste preference to achieve the desired sourness.

Simmer: Cover and cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until the fish is fully cooked and tender.
